Traditionally within Buddhism there are many different thoughts and ways of thinking. We find diversifying interpretations as to how to apply Buddhism. At the Buddhist Sangha Foundation we bring together all the Communities of the Buddhist Traditions and Schools by encompassing the salient points of all the traditions in the further understand of the dharma, the teachings of the Buddha, without any dogma or altered attachments. It is our aim to bring the dharma, and make it available to, people of all races and cultures; practising as befits all regions without distorting the traditions or teachings. We seek to be a uniting and central focal point for all those of the Buddhist communities, whether ordained or lay, and those with an interest in Buddhism. The Buddhist Sangha Foundation was formed by ordained members of different Buddhist Traditions with the aim of bringing together, and being a focal point, for all Buddhists Communities whether ordained or lay.We are committed to: Showing compassion to all sentient beings & Being at peace within ones self. AND Seeking refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha:To do this we show compassion and understanding, without discrimination, fear or favour, to all sentient beings whatever their creed, race, colour, gender, religion, beliefs or otherwise. All members are committed to this covenant so that all sentient beings may attain enlightenment. We have an open-door policy to the Foundation and all are welcome. We encourage, and take part in. work that takes the dharma into the community and also out-reach work. Sangha Members are involved in such work as youth-work, Hospital outreach and Prison outreach as examples of our diverse work. We also have, for example in the UK, members sitting on SACRE (Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education). The Buddhist Sangha Foundation is also involved in academic work and research work. We do have Permanent Members who are published authors in Buddhist works. If you wish to sponsor a particular research topic then we would be pleased to hear from you. We are able to provide Chaplains, Priests or Monks to give talks on Buddhism, carry-out blessing and other ceremonies, as well as helping with other requests. These services are available to private individuals and organisations/groups. We are able to provide this service UK , Europe and worldwide. If you think we can be of assistance, please contact us as per our 'contact us' page. We will be pleased to hear from you. If you would like to be part of what we do then please us send us your details. We would be delighted to hear from you. Of all the work we do, we do not receive any formal funding and rely entirely upon the geneorisity of those which to make a cotribution, however small, to the Foundation. This can be done on our website Buddhist Sangha Foundation. We've also got an online Buddhist Shop which is Buddhist Sangha Shop - there is a link to it from our main site as well. |
